Our culture

The mejority of the people in Mirahawatta are buddhists. They go to Malpotha and Mirahawatta temples and they organize “sila” campaign and wesak perahera annually.There are two Daham Schools Sri Dammananda Daham school and Sri Pusparama Daham school where pupils gain religious education. Few people in Mirahawatta are Muslims. They built a new mosque. Malpotha temple organizes many religious programs such as “upa sampada” festivals,poson silasamadana programs.Many people devote and dedicate the time for religious programs at temples.Famers organize devadana festival after paddy havesting.
